On January Thursday 24th, I and my classroom went to the Museo Galilei with the bus.
In the Museo Galileo there are the only surviving instrument designed and built by Galileo himself.
The most important are two original telescopes and lens of telescope with wich Galileo decovered Jupiter’s moons.
The museum has two floors and it is divided into rooms.
The first floors riteins the Medici collection, the second the Lorraine Collection.
One of the room that I like very much is the second colled “Astronomy time”.
In this room there are a lot of tools for the measurament of time: sundials, and astrolabe that allowed to know what time is day or night.
Also the seventh room is very interesting. In this room there are the Galileo’s original telescope, the obiective lens of the telescope.
This room conteins olso object made by Galileo: armed lodestone, compass, thermoscope that is the ancestor of the modern thermometer compound microscope.
After visiting the museum we took the bus and went back to school.
I really enjoy the visit but was very difficult to understand esplanations in English.
