BRAZILIAN BREAKFAST’S ELEMENTS – Food and drinks

Brazil is the world’s fifth-largest country by area and the sixth most populous.
Brazil is a nation located in South America, it is the largest country in Latin America.

The capital is Brasilia, but the most important city is Rio de Janeiro.
The Brazilian climate has a great variety of weather conditions, however it can be considered that most of the country has a tropical climate.

Brazilian breakfast is an extremely plentiful and various meal.
Traditionally it is composed of several types of fruit such as papaya, coconut, maracuja, acerola, mango and acai. Using acai Brazilians make the most traditionally breakfast dish called in English as Acai bowl, word which translates the Portuguese expression Acai na tigela. This popular foodstuff consists in a fruit sorbet obtained by blending freezing acais with bananas, blueberries and yogurt. Often Brazilians enrich acai bowl putting in it a lot of fresh fruit or toasted cereals.

This is the story of Pao de Queijo, a little sandwich with a melted cheese heart.
The dough is composed by tapioca flour, manioca and the filling is made of Queijo de minas, a local cheese originated from Portugal.
Pao de Queijo was born during the slavery period using the residue of manioca, a vegetable destinated to the richest settler.
Following the end of slavery, in 1888, Queijo de minas was added as a symbol of freedom.

One of the strangest dishes in Brazilian breakfast is a cake made of coconut and cheese. A strange match that has its origins in the ancient culture of Brazil, which was not based on Western traditions.
Since the beginning Brazilian people have their breakfast extremely early, between 6:30 and 8:00 AM. This meal is quite light: provides just 350-400 calories.
