\nI’m Denise and I’m from the Philippines.
\nI can speak Tagalog or Filipino very well.
\nNow I’m going to talk about my country.<\/p>\n

Geography<\/strong>
\nThe Philippines or the Republic of the Philippines is an archipelago composed of about 7.641 islands.
\nThe capital is Manila and the most populated city is Quezon.
\nThe Philippines is categorized with 3 main geographical divisions from north to south: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
\nThe longest river is the Cayagar river in Luzon, the largest lake is Laguna de Bay and the highest mountain is Mount Apo with 2.954 meters.
\nThe Philippines deepest depht is \u201cThe Galatea depht\u201d the third deepest depht in the world.<\/p>\n

Climate<\/strong>
\nThe Philippines is situated near the equator so it’s very hot. Strong typhoons pass on it destroying everything they meet.
\nThere are often strong earthquakes, too and that’s because it’s near The Ring of Fire.
\nIt has 3 seasons:tag-lamig (Winter) with 22\u00b0 to 30\u00b0,
\ntag-ulan (Rainy season) with 30\u00b0 to 35\u00b0 and tag-init (Summer) with 35\u00b0 to 40\u00b0.<\/p>\n

History<\/strong>
\nFerdinand Magelland was the one who discoverd the Philippines and in the 1521 he marked the beginning of the Hispanic colonization.
\nThe explorer Ruy L\u00f2pez de Villalobos named the archipelago Las islas Filipinas in honor of the King Philip ll of Spain.
\nAnd with the arrival of Miguel L\u00f2pez de Legazpi in the 1526 the Philippines was officialy part of the Spanish empire for more then 300 years.
\nIn the 19th and 20th century began the Philippine Revolution and it was followed by the Philippine-American War, where the Americans took soveireingty of the islands.
\nIn the end of the World War ll the Americans lost the islands and the Philippines became an indipendent nation.<\/p>\n

Language<\/strong>
\nFilipino and English are the original languages of the Philippines and the co-languages are Arabic and Spanish.
\nIn the Philippines there are 19 languages.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Filipino dish<\/strong><\/p>\n

A filipino dish has always rice.
\nSome popular filipino dishes are :
\nlech\u00f2n,sinigang,kare-kare,adobo,pansit,tapa,crispy pata,lumpia and halo-halo.
\nOne of my favourites is halo-halo.
\nHalo-halo is a popular dessert with beans, jelly, fruit mixed with shaved ice and evaporated milk.
\nBut there are some disgusting filipino food like balut or isaw.
\nBalut is a developing bird embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell.
